What is Treatment package (series)?

A treatment package is a prepaid bundle of a fixed number of sessions, usually discounted against single-visit pricing: six laser hair removal sessions, eight body sculpting treatments, a facial series. The clinic holds the prepayment as a liability and recognizes revenue, and provider commission, as each session is redeemed.

How it works in an aesthetic clinic

A client prepays a six-session laser series. The system records six entitlements on a ledger; each visit redeems one, with the balance visible at booking and checkout. Expiry policy is explicit and disclosed. Accounting treats the unredeemed balance as deferred revenue, and the provider who delivers session four is the one credited for session four.

Treatment package (series) vs a membership

Treatment package (series)A fixed series with a defined end, purchased once and drawn down
A membershipAn ongoing monthly subscription with benefits that renew until cancelled

Why it matters for clinic operators

Untracked packages leak revenue in both directions: sessions delivered without being decremented, and clients charged despite remaining balance, which becomes a dispute and a review. The ledger, visible to staff and client, is the fix.
