What is Patch test?
A patch test is a small trial application of a treatment, such as a few laser pulses on a discreet area or a product swatch, performed before full treatment to observe the individual's actual response. It converts predicted tolerance into observed evidence where skin type, history, or sensitivities raise uncertainty.
How it works in an aesthetic clinic
Before first-time laser hair removal on a higher Fitzpatrick type, the provider fires test pulses at the planned settings on a small area and schedules the full session after the observation window passes cleanly. The chart records the test settings, site, and response, and those records then justify the parameters chosen for session one.
